Tel Aviv: Two Israeli soldiers were killed and several others injured in a bomb blast during the transfer of military equipment in the central Gaza Strip.

According to Israeli media, a spokesman for the country's army said that Major Yotam Itzhak Peled, 34, who was killed in the bombing, was a logistics officer, while Major Mordechai Youssef was driving a military truck.
The Israeli army spokesman said in a statement that the two slain majors were attached to the 8119th battalion of the Jerusalem Brigade and were in a convoy delivering supplies to soldiers in the Zaytoun neighborhood of Peled Gaza at the time of the explosion.
The statement said that a bomb was planted by Hamas on the way to the logistics convoy of the Israeli army and the bombers opened fire on Israeli soldiers after the explosion, injuring several personnel.
It should be remembered that the Israeli army entered Gaza on October 27 and since then the number of soldiers killed during the clashes with Hamas reached 334.
This is in addition to the nearly 1,500 Israeli soldiers killed in the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel.
